Exotic Beaches - Cambodia Travel Guide

Accessible Cambodia's beaches

with at least a minimum of infrastructure are not many. The waterfronts are the best example that there is more in the country beside of temples, monument and Phnom Penh.

Sihanoukville Beaches

Ochheuteal

Sokha

Serendipity

Koh Kong

Kep

Equally interesting is the vicinity just check the pages this are day trips within an hour, Sre Ambel is almost 2 hours. The main road is a hard one with asphalt and buses, big and small are driving along hourly. Actually all this at the 2 main roads from the coast Phnom Penh.

Also the roads to the seafronts are real bad unless it is to the most popular at Sihanoukville there are only dirt roads. Even a tuk-tuk driver wont get you to one of the better China Sea fronts such as Otres beach because he would risk to damage his vehicle.

This is Paklong waterfront close to the road from the Thai border to Koh Kong City. The main road is a good one but after the intersection to the sea it's just a bad dirt road for about 2 km. The white sand strip is real pristine with millions of small shells laying around which is a good indicator if it's untouched or not.

A good example how it could be done is the front of Sokha Beach resort at Sihanoukville.

This vacation playground is currently (2013) the best in the country. It somehow is a copy of the Holiday Inn at Cha Am Thailand.

The busiest waterfront in the south of Cambodia is Serendipity & Ochheuteal

actually this is one seafront with two sectors, the first is with a mixture of boulder and sand and

the second almost totally sandy. It's a little version of Patong in Phuket but much more
civilized with bars, restaurants, jet skis and other activities. Looks very family friendly a real pleasure spot on the South China Sea.

Now what to do when you soaked enough sun in, the skin is red and you get a bit bored? Yes, do a day trip, since the distances between the locations are not as long and the main roads roads ok, what to do?

Make a day trip to Sre Ambel or Bokor National Park

to Bokor you need to book a tour because this is under Military control and you wont be allowed to enter on your own. For Sre Ambel there is no problem, just take a bus, car or motorbike (be extremely careful) and start.
