Pub Street at the Old Market in Siem Reap
is the area to visit in the night. There is only one place with some nightlife and that is Pub Street at the Old Market. But bars, clubs and disco's are not many, actually the only one is the Temple club. The are also two discos in the that area but nothing Phnom Penh or Bangkok style.
An extension stretches over the river into a huge souvenir market, they have plenty of pretty things but most is just the usual China junk which is littering whole SEA. Some local items are silver-works, silk, woodcarvings, art and handicrafts. The thing is they mix this stuff with the Chinese stuff so it is difficult to figure out what's up.
This is a relatively new nightlife area
existing since 1998 when the Angkor What? bar opened there. At that time it was the only only but many other noticed the potential and quickly a whole "Pub Street" of about 200 meters with countless alleys was filled with restaurants, bars and shops.

All kinds of cuisines are available, beside the local Khmer Food, it's Chinese, the usual European, fast ones and sea food. The dishes are quite good and I never got sick, until around 8 pm "happy hour" beer is available, but some places are cheating. The leave the happy hour sign outside and if you come after 8 they charge full price since there is no time indicated it's pure cheat.

Probably the best crossover place on pub street is the Temple Club,
with a pub and disco at the low level and a good restaurant plus Khmer dance show upstairs.
That means a 10 people dance group and a full Cambodian orchestra making the music, the best news is they don't charge entrance fee and the everything costs just the same as elsewhere.
When in Siem Reap that's the place to go for an authentic local show with a touch of Angkor Wat since the dancer are Apsara style, they also call them the "heavenly girls".
